Taking the headache out of gardening

Originally,
I intended to turn my smallholding in West Cork into a nursery
specialising on wildlife plants. As I talked to people in the area,
however, I discovered a real demand for food plants. Many told me
that they would love to have a garden, but just didn't know how to
get started.
'Ready Set Garden Beds' is a way to help people have a useful garden with herbs, fruit, or vegetables (or a bit of all!) without the headache of having to figure out how to plan it right, plant it right and get it right...
Here are some examples of the beds we have built
We offer an easy entry into gardening for your own food production for the South West of Ireland (Cork and South Kerry region). Be it to set up your vegetable beds at home or at an allotment. Our Ready Set Garden Beds are suitable for all situations. The smaller sized raised beds are ideal for herbs to be placed near the kitchen door where they are always within reach when needed. The fruit bed can make an atractive and yummie feature on a lawn and the vegetable beds bring an attractive and clean look to your utility garden.
Our Ready Set Garden Beds are:
Ready planted up productive garden beds
Suitable for the smallest space
Made of durable, locally produced wood
Chemical-free
Plants can be adapted to your taste
Size can be adapted to your needs
Low maintenance
Our range of shallow Ready Set Garden beds are suitable to be put on any reasonably good soil, be it that you want to convert part of your lawn to fruit or vegetable produciton or you want to replace last years slightly messy vegetable corner.
We do not use a liner in the bottom of the beds so the plants can easlily grow into the soil beneath the beds without any restrictions to their growth.
The beds are 15cm deep and come in a range of different sizes suitable for sifferent uses:
Herb bed, 40cmx80cm including 6 differnt herbs (for example: oregano, marjoram, creeping thyme, parsley, sage, coriander) for €70
Fruit bed, 1mx1.4m including 4 different fruits (for example: 1 blackcurrant, 1 redcurrant, 1 raspberry and five strawberries) €135
Vegetable bed, 1mx2m including 5 different veggies (for example: leeks, lettuce, peas, beans and a squash) €145
The prices include all materials, plants, set up and planting. Delivery is charged extra.
Our range of deep raised beds are suitable to be put on any surface that would normally not be good enough to support plants- be it a very stony part of your garden or even a patio.
The beds are 30cm deep and come in a range of different sizes suitable for sifferent uses:

The wood we use is locally sourced hard- wood, mainly larch whenever available.
Due to the nature of the wood no preservatives are needed, just the cut ends are treated with a little bit of linseed oil to prevent the wood from splitting.
Over time the untreated wood will turn greyish-silver but that can easily be prevented by using oil on the outside without affecting the plants growing within.
As the shallow beds are placed directly on the soil and the plants grow into the ground underneath no additional liners are needed.
For the deep beds we use a water permeable ground cover at the bottom that will allow excess moisture to escape so the beds do not end up waterlogged.
As a filler we use a growing medium that contains peat due to its excellent water holding
capacities but it is no problem to source a peat-free substitute if
requested.
